Listed Building

North Yorkshire

This listed former farmhouse had been converted previously, however the outbuildings remained largely as originally built and enclosed a tarmac courtyard used for parking. In addition to creating additional living space, the proposals aimed to enhance the setting for the buildings. This was achieved by relocating the parking area to the rear of the building, concealing it from view with the courtyard forming an attractively landscaped garden. Elements of the existing outbuildings were rebuilt to form a Garden Room with dramatic part glazed roof and large folding sliding screen, opening it up to the courtyard for entertaining. The final phase of the project will be to convert the two storey barn into a swimming pool and guest accommodation.
